There are generally five main elements to the cost of a funeral:
Our Professional Service Fee
will depend on the style or type of service provided, and generally incorporates all of the task and services involved in arranging, planning and conducting the funeral, including:
- Care and attention from professionally trained staff (available 24 hours a day);
- Transfer of the deceased from place of death into our care;
- Provision of a hearse
- Placement of newspaper notices, and attending to registration of the death;
- Making cemetery or crematorium arrangements;
- Liaising with clergy or a civil celebrant;
- Liaising with florists, caterers, musicians and other service providers;
- Provision of all necessary staff and vehicles on the day of the funeral;
- Use of viewing facilities;
Coffin or Casket
The cost of a coffin or casket depends entirely on the construction/type, quality, finish and style that is chosen.
We offer a wide range of coffin and caskets, to meet the personal, cultural and budgetary needs and preferences of your family, from simple particle board and custom wood (cardboard) coffins, through to solid timber and metal caskets.
Cemetery and Crematoria charges
These fees/charges are set by the individual Cemeteries and Crematoria, and do not vary between funeral companies.
Options to Celebrate a Life
We offer a range of options to help to celebrate the life of the person who has died, including our:

- Tailored Order of Service Booklets, Mass keepsake Booklets and Thank You Cards;
- Range of Contemporary Memorial Books.
Other Third Party Disbursements
As well as cemetery/Crematoria charges there are often a number of third party disbursements involved with the overall cost of a funeral, such as:

Allowances and Rebates
Various Government Departments and organisations offer bereavement payments for Australian residents. You should contact your nearest
Centrelink office or call 13 23 00 for details on your situation. Here is a list of some entitlements and allowances (please note these may be subject to change by the Government);
Married Pensioner
Surviving partners receive a further 14 weeks of their spouse’s pension, usually paid in a lump sum.
Single Pensioners
The estate receives one full pension payment after the person’s death.
Carers’ Pension
Entitled to a further 14 weeks pension following the death and this is paid in fortnightly payments. If the deceased was single/widowed/divorced there may be an additional lump sum payment.
Sole Parent Pension
Entitled to a further 14 weeks pension following the death and this is paid in a lump sum.
Surviving Spouse Bereaved Allowance Pension
If the surviving spouse does not have sufficient means to support himself or herself, the bereavement allowance is available for 14 weeks.
Widows Allowance
If the surviving wife is over 50 and she has no recent experience in the workforce, she may be entitled to regular payments.
Where possible we will try to attain individual information for you. Depending on the history of the deceased and the State in Australia in which they died, additional allowances may be payable through other institutions, including; The Department of Veterans Affairs, trade unions, some private health funds and insurance companies.
Victim of Crime
On December 1, 2009 the Queensland government introduced the Victims of Crime Assistance Act 2009 which may assist in providing for a funeral where a death has occurred and the deceased was a victim of crime. Further information can be obtained from the
Queensland Department of Justice and Attorney General.
Burial/Cremation Assistance
The Department of Justice and Attorney-General, through the Office of the State Coroner or a local Magistrates Court Registry, may organise a simple burial or cremation of any deceased person whose assets cannot cover the cost of their funeral and whose relatives and friends cannot arrange or pay for their funeral.
